Psychotherapy, or therapy for short, talk therapy, and counseling are all interchangeable terms that refer to a talk-based method of helping you discover, understand, and improve your relationships with yourself or others. The goal of most therapy is to help you deal more effectively, healthily, and happily with current life challenges or changes, past traumas, and other difficult situations. Talk therapy is shown to be highly effective at treating most forms of OCD, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Loss, Relationship Issues, Eating Disorders, Mood Disorders, and many others. As a result of therapy, clients are often able to change or improve thoughts, moods, feelings, behaviors, patterns, reactions, and communications that are unwanted, feel uncontrollable, or no longer serve their lives. Therapy can also help to uncover and work through the underlying causes of your challenges; therefore, a discussion of your past, present, or future may take place depending on your specific goals. If you have questions, please Contact Us for a FREE consultation.
EMDR is an extensively researched, highly effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD and Complex PTSD, OCD, Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders, Panic Disorders, and Phobias. EMDR is different from traditional psychotherapy methods in that it often does not require talking in great detail about the distressing issue or event, nor does it require completing tasks between sessions. EMDR uses bilateral stimulation and other techniques to allow the brain to resume its natural healing process and resolve traumatic memories to a point where the client is able to remember everything, but the emotional charge associated with the event is reduced or gone. For many clients, EMDR can be completed in fewer sessions than with other therapeutic modalities. If you have questions, please Contact Us for a FREE consultation.
Our Care Providers offer a wide variety of therapeutic groups including support groups (e.g., enroll-anytime groups for grief and loss, survivors of sexual assault, military veterans, addiction, race- or gender-based violence/trauma, etc.), skills or "psycho-educational" groups (e.g., 6-12 week pre-set curriculums for DBT, CBT, self-esteem for teens, parenting, etc.), and process groups (e.g., enroll-as-a-set-cohort intentionally unstructured groups that allow for each group member to reveal the organic patterns they go through when trying to build and maintain relationships). Process groups also focus on what happens in the room (i.e., the reaction you have to your fellow group member or Care Provider, reactions to sitting in silence in the group, noticing what type of role someone seems to be falling into within the group, or learning the impact your way of speaking is having on your fellow group members). Group Therapy has been shown to be highly effective at helping with a wide variety of mental health concerns and is a wonderful way to feel less alone and unique in our challenges. Have you noticed that you tend to have more intense emotional reactions to certain situations than others? Do you struggle to regulate your emotions or insecurities within romantic, family, work, or friend relationships?
DBT theory suggests that some people’s level of emotion in such situations can increase far more quickly than the average person’s, attain a higher level of stimulation, and take a significantly longer amount of time to return to baseline arousal levels.
Introductory DBT Skills group uses mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness techniques to teach clients to:
Manage and/or de-escalate painful or powerful negative emotions and mood swings
Slow yourself down during moments of heightened emotion in order to stop yourself from acting on impulse or doing something you later regret
Increase self-control around maladaptive habits/patterns or addictive behaviors
Increase self-awareness, accountability, and self-esteem
Decrease conflict in relationships (with the self and others)
Improve assertive and mutually respectful communication with others, helping us move from reactive to responsive interactions
Better enjoy life in the present moment without getting caught up in distressing thought loops or worry

ADHD Skills & Support offers:
Guided examples
Evidence-based skills for improved organization, communication, task follow-up, and time management
Hands-on tools for every day situations at work, home, school
Better understanding of triggers for lack of motivation or issues starting or completing tasks
Discovery of how you can turn ADHD from a limitation into a superpower
“Today's world places so much strain and stress our brains, including our ability to focus, manage time, organize, start and complete tasks, and give our attention to one thing at a time. For folks with ADHD, these skills can feel that much harder, leading to a decline in their physical, mental, and emotional health.
I am offering this ADHD Skills & Support group as a resource for neurodivergent people who may be struggling to understand how to best manage some of these issues.
ADHD can also be a very isolating diagnosis, so even if you're just looking for a sense of community with others who can understand, this group might be the space you've been missing.
