Our Care Packages

As is normal at Caring Connected, we asked ourselves what we'd want if we were seeking help. That's why one of our first decisions was to shorten the industry standard 48-hour cancelation window to 24 hours. And while that's helpful, we wanted to take things a step further by offering unique, optional Care Packages that give you the freedom and flexibility you deserve. 

PLEASE NOTE: All Care Packages are non-refundable so please keep in mind if you decide to discontinue treatment before you have attended all sessions in a Care Package, partial or pro-rated refunds for any unused sessions will not be possible. Additionally, if you cancel, reschedule, or no-show for a session without at least 24 hour notice, that session will count as one of the pre-paid sessions. Care Packages are offered on a "per treatment unit" basis (a single individual is a treatment unit, members of a couple seen together are a treatment unit, members of a family seen together are a treatment unit, etc.); thus, different treatment units and session types cannot be combined within a single Care Package. Additionally, the last sessions in the Care Package (i.e., 11th, 21st/22nd, 31st/32nd/33rd, or 25-minute remote sessions) will be considered the free sessions. All sessions within the Carefree 10 must be used within 90 days. All sessions within the Carefree 20 must be used within 180 days. All sessions within the Carefree 30 must be used within 365 days. Financial Policies and Procedures

HOW INSURANCE WORKS AND WHY WE DON'T ACCEPT IT

Insurance companies often limit the number of sessions you can attend, try to dictate certain aspects of your treatment, request private clinical information, and require that you be given a psychiatric diagnosis (i.e., a mental disorder or illness) in order to pay for treatment. Even though most personal challenges are not the result of a diagnosable mental disorder/illness, most insurance plans still require clients to have a psychiatric diagnosis in order to receive any coverage for treatment. This means a mental disorder/illness would become part of your medical record. 

Having a mental disorder/illness on your medical record may cause problems for you later. For example, job applications, employers, and health, life, and automobile insurance companies often ask, "Have you ever been diagnosed with a mental illness?" or "Do you have a mental disability?".  Answering these questions affirmatively may have an effect on your ability to obtain employment or future insurance coverage (in other words, your diagnosis would be considered a "pre-existing condition").

Caring Connected chooses not to accept insurance, in part, to ensure that any diagnosis and/or other private personal information would never need to be divulged to an insurance company (unless you choose to submit to them for reimbursement). By not accepting insurance, we also ensure that you are never subject to any insurance reviews of your treatment or progress, nor could anyone but you and your Care Provider decide on how many sessions you want/need to attend.
